FOR HEBRON ---
The Hebron Jewish Community is pained to announce that precisely on the 78th anniversary of the 1929 massacre in Hebron (67 dead and the surviving population expelled from the city), Defense Minister Ehud Barak has personally decided to expel two more Jewish families from their homes in Hebron's Shalhevet neighborhood (right in the middle of the Jewish quarter of Hebron, right near Mearat haMachpela).

According to information received by the community, about 1,000 police, riot squad forces and soldiers will deport the two families late Sunday night or early Monday morning. If you are a friend of Hebron and Eretz Yisrael, you are asked to come to Hebron starting Saturday night, to take part in the protest and struggle. Most likely all roads leading to Hebron will be closed sometime Sunday or Monday, so please arrive as early as possible.
There are regular Egged busses from Jerusalem to Hebron. If you know anyone in Hebron, Kiryat Arba or thereabouts, by all means try to invite yourself for Shabbat.

IMPORTANT If you see this before Shabbat, please print it out and hang it up before Shabbat (preferably just a few minutes before Shabbat comes in... so it won't get covered up) in the nearest Bet Knesset -- many people will see it that way -- thanks!! The Shmitta year is coming up. In the past, this year was "observed" by buying fruit and vegetables imported from the Palestinian Authority. Can you imagine how ridiculous we will be looking in history books if we continue doing that this year, not to speak of the level of hygiene, as in lack thereof, characteristic of the Palestinian Authority where sewage-polluted water has been detected in the past.

In order to make other arrangements to accomodate all of us, the farmers (many of them from Gush Katif) need to start now, and in order to start now, they need to have assurances, from their clientele i.e. us, that we intend to buy from them. Call 1700-709-177 urgently to make the necessary 650 NIS down-payment, 600 NIS of which you will get back in fruit and vegetables which will be sold in a network of stores all over Israel, next year. The remaining 50 NIS is your SMALL contribution to this IMPORTANT project which is called "Otzar Haaretz".
